Service Engineer – Customer Service

The Company

Inductotherm Group is world leader in the manufacture of induction heating and welding equipment.   Our portfolio of products are partly mechanical and often contain; motor drive components, an induction heating stage, a water quenching or cooling stage and an overall control system. Our products are designed, manufactured and tested in our factory and delivered to customers around the world.

The Role

To install, commission and repair high power (1kW to 4MW) induction heating and welding units that are used for a wide variety of industrial processes world wide. (Detailed equipment training will be provided). You will need to be multi-disciplined with knowledge of power electronics, electronics, radio-frequencies, EMC, mechanical handling systems and water cooling systems. In practice the work is as much mechanical as electrical and electronic.

The Person

We are seeking a person who is flexible, out-going, technically motivated and interested in a high level of Customer Service. You will be well organised and able to communicate effectively with senior management, both internal and external. You will have experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment servicing and commissioning special purpose machines or capital equipment.

The Working Environment

You will be responsible to the Customer Services Manager and work as a part of a focused team dedicated to Customer Service. Working within Italy, but also European customer sites. This role requires working away from base approximately 60% of the time with some sales of spare parts.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Fluent English and Italian.
  • HNC or HND level in electrical/electronics or a high degree of technical ability.
  • A wide range of general mechanical skills.
  • Good familiarity with oscilloscopes and all types of electrical test equipment.
  • Good PC and PLC skills.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: motor control, U.P.S. or large power supplies.
  • Knowledge of radio-frequencies, EMC, PLC’s, mechanical handling and water cooling systems would be useful.
